French Language and Literature
Semester
Sep 2021 - Dec 2023
I was originally intended to double major in CDM and French. I accomplished all courses required to attain the degree, except one course FRE2107: READINGS IN FRENCH NARRATIVE TEXTS (1). I only had to take this course in my last semester; however, very unfortunately, due to the unusual collapsing schedule of classes in my last semester, I had to choose whether I had to postpone my graduation or focus on my primary major, CDM. I decided to do the latter choice, and even if it is a huge shame that I lost the opportunity to double major, it was a great time to take part in French Language and Literature Department and meet students and faculty members in this college.
From taking numerous courses in this department, I could enrich my knowledge in the modern language French and my enthusiasm in studying history and literature at the same time. To share what I studied in various courses, I list some of my activities and meaningful coursework I have done.
The courses I took are as follows.
Literature-related classes:
Introduction to French Literature
French Language Civilization (1), (2)
Readings in French Narrative Texts (2)
19th Century French Novel (2)
French Symbolic Poetry
Grammer and structure-related classes:
Introduction to French Linguistics
French Composition and Expression
Studies in French Syntax
Studies in French Text and Discourse
Communication-related classes:
French (2)
French Conversation (2)
