British Life and Culture
Semester
Jan - Jun 2023
This course is designed to help students gain benefit from their study abroad experience and become aware of British culture in its many aspects. Lectures consist of various topics, such as sports, politics, music, and much more, that lead students explore diverse facades of British lifestyle and culture and share their opinion during class with others coming from all around the world.
This course required two essays regarding two topics that I chose among those given through lectures, and field trip reviews as well.
Firstly, I started with my field trip to The Tower of London where I could see a hint of British history, politics, and especially zoo. The second one was more specific and much developed, an essay regarding Stonehenge and arguments that surrounds the mystery of its construction and meaning.
The final essay was regarding the British monarchy that I found interesting from the first field trip. After finishing my second essay giving contrast between different perspectives that gained good reviews from the professor, I applied this kind of writing style in this last essay with various perspectives British people have and summarise the whole argument and give my opinion at last.
