CDM2001: Culture and Design Trends

This course gave an overview and detailed information to learn design history and trends. For the first project, we had to read weekly reading materials and submit a report, while choosing one of them and doing a teamwork delving into the topic we chose. I chose a game industry which went viral after the pandemic, and also the topic I am interested in.
Another main project that I did very successfully was to propose a personal branding project. This was also based on one's interest, with a deep analysis to support the vitality to deal with a specific industry that I aim to study. I chose Korean perfume industry since I studied and could get a perfumery certificate in 2020, and I wanted to develop my understanding of the profession and also the trends of the industry. Thereby I did an intensive research, came up with a unique idea that aims to promote the Korean identity through perfumery, and created numerous design materials such as design sketches, perfume chords, and mockups to give vivid visual sources.
As a result, I was able to get a very good review from the professor, who supported me after the semester finished to expand my project which led me to have an honour to receive an award from KCDF (you can check the link for details) and run by own business HEON.
